Wow with over 700 people attending Wordcamp NYC 2009, it was definitely the largest most successful Wordcamp to date! My first Wordcamp was last year 2008 NYC, at Sun Microsystems NYC offices, all in one small room with around 50 or so people, so to see the growth in just one year was truly impressive.

For those of you who have been living under a rock… or maybe just got back from the islands! Google has been doing some major tweaking of how their organic search algorithm produces the SERP’s “Search Engine Results Pages”
Official Google Announcement:
“For the last several months, a large team of Googlers has been working on a secret project: a next-generation architecture for Google’s web search. It’s the first step in a process that will let us push the envelope on size, indexing speed, accuracy, comprehensiveness and other dimensions.”
Google is now asking for developers to give feed back.
“The new infrastructure sits “under the hood” of Google’s search engine, which means that most users won’t notice a difference in search results. But web developers and power searchers might notice a few differences, so we’re opening up a web developer preview to collect feedback.”
I’m not going to go into any technical detail of what differences there may or may not be in this now seemingly seriously modified Google search algorithm. Affiliate Summit East 2009 was at The Hilton in Midtown Manhattan August 9-11th, it was the largest ASE ever with over 3000 attendees! This conference was by far one of the most engaging and fun events I have ever attended as an Internet marketer. I arrived at the conference at around 10:30 Sunday morning, grabbed my badge and quickly entered the Meet Market. An area dedicated to networking; this is also offered to companies who are not yet ready to get a full tradeshow booth. Basically its just rows of tables and the room was packed with people chatting and making deals all day, it kinda felt like a tradeshow on crack. The energy in the room was Very High, I’m guessing that the bag full of “Healthy Energy Drinks” they handed out to every attendee, may have been the culprit. I jumped right in on the action and did some networking straight away, talking with some networks that I have worked with for a while and some networks that I have never even heard of. It was great to put some faces to those AIM SN’s.

I have not posted many updates in a long while and I apologize about that!
